Therapy for the curious mind

You’re longing for connection and belonging, yet unable to let yourself be vulnerable.

During childhood, we often learn to suppress our emotions as a way to cope—an ingenious yet isolating strategy.

This emotional shutdown can persist into adulthood, leading to feelings of uninspiration, depression, and anxiety. My role is to guide you in reconnecting with yourself, allowing you to rediscover your true essence.

Why is this connection to your essence crucial? It serves as your North Star, guiding your attention to what truly matters. Simultaneously, it ignites the drive within you to initiate and effect change. Your essence is your brilliance, the tether to your life's purpose, illuminating your path and tying you to it.

Psychotherapy Sessions

Therapy can be a place of refuge to consider the unconsidered, listen to the unheard parts of you, and heal what is in need of healing.

It is a sacred space to explore, be curious, and discover your authentic self.

Psychotherapy is the treatment of mental, emotional, and personal issues through the use of psychological techniques designed to encourage insight into problems.

The goal of therapy is to elicit relief of symptoms, changes in behavior leading to improved social and vocational functioning, along with personality growth.

Process of working together

Our initial therapy session is dedicated to completing the intake form. The purpose of this form is to create a clear roadmap for our journey together. We'll explore various aspects of your life during this session, enabling us to establish initial therapy goals that will guide our upcoming sessions.

The duration of your therapy sessions can be either 55 minutes or 85 minutes, depending on your preference. Session frequency is tailored to your needs and preferences. Typically, starting with weekly visits for the initial sessions is recommended to build rapport and establish a strong therapeutic alliance.

Cancellation/Rescheduling Policy

A 48 hour notice cancellation policy is in effect. Without sufficient notice, you will be charged the full amount for your missed session.

People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don't find myself saying, "Soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner." I don't try to control the sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds.

  • 55 min sessions are $160 plus HST and 85 min sessions are $220 plus HST.

  • I work with folks who are grappling with identity questions. I work with those who have experienced developmental trauma and single event trauma. I also work with individuals who are wanting to level up their life and explore what is in the way of them living with contentment. I offer psychotherapy across Ontario.

  • All sessions are held virtually through a secure HIPAA compliant online platform.

  • Sessions are fully confidential unless you are thinking of harming yourself or harming others—I am required by law to report that. I am also required to report if you share with me the knowledge of any physical and/or sexual abuse of a minor by an adult, or of an elderly or disabled person.

I am also required to report any sexual misconduct of a mental health professional to their College.

All else stays between you and I.

  • Starting out we will meet once a week. As you progress, I recommend we meet twice a month, moving on to monthly or sessions on call.

  • To assess our compatibility, I provide a complimentary 15-20 minute consultation. This allows you to get to know me and my approach, and ask questions. While I am honored to work with you, it’s important to actually enjoy and resonate with the person you choose as your therapist. For that reason, I invite you to see the options you have available. I believe the universe will always nudge you in the right direction.

  • Some insurance plans cover the cost associated with seeing a Registered Psychotherapist. I invite you to check with your insurance provider to determine your coverage.

If your plan covers psychotherapy, you will simply need to submit a receipt for reimbursement.

  • E-transfer following each session is the preferred method of payment. I also accept credit card payments through Stripe.
