5 ways to de-stress after a long work week

The weekend is here. It is time to allow yourself to just be.

The following suggestions can really aid you in taking full advantage of your precious free time. Step out of your comfort zone for a bit, and allow yourself to experience something different ....pssst different can be a good thing.

1. Congratulate yourself

You've made it through. It is so important to celebrate the small moments. They can help bring you back to the present. Give yourself that high five, a pat on the back, or even a well deserved A+.

2. Take a walk

Walking in nature can help lower stress levels by reducing blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension, and the production of stress hormones. Nature can also shed light upon your true self. Go ahead and give Mother Nature a try.

3. Set an Intention

Say out loud how you want to feel this weekend, for energy follows intention.

i.e "I am setting the intention to feel relaxed in my body"

4. Declutter your space

Yes, it can get messy at home when you're focused on work and have other things going on. Yet, it is important to find the time to declutter your personal space for it will allow you to feel more in control of your life. It will also invite in new clean energy into the home which will help you feel relaxed and crisp.

5. Connect with your breath

Mindful breathing can lower stress levels by allowing you to let go of your past week and bring you, yet again, to the present moment. It can also provide you with the clarity of mind to consciously design the perfect weekend, for your highest good.
